Where your tax dollars are spent

Ever wondered where the most tax money comes from? Or once in the government’s coffers, where it might be spent, eventually? The revenue comes from individual income tax, and most expenditure is directed to social security and welfare. The two graphs below were included in the 2012-13 Federal Budget papers, and show revenue sources, and expenditure, for 2011-12 on an accrual basis.
